Lithology and Thickness

It is is made up of limestones, sandstones, and mudstones. It is the lateral equivalent of the Memouniat Fm of the Ghadames basin. (Klett, 2000).

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It conformably overlies the Argiles d’Azzel Fm.

Upper contact

It is unconformably overlain by the Argile Microconglomerat Fm. (Glacial Unconformity – see Klett, 2000).

Top placed at an arbitrary 90% up in Katian to allow for the “Glacial unconformity” as Gondwana ice caps advanced over the landscape. The overlying Argile Microconglomerate Fm represents glacial-marine from that episode.
